As I've mentioned Fibre art is a fine art form which also includes sculptural three dimensional forms forms. I'm differentiating the works here from the works in the section Fibre Installations - which can often be both 2 and 3 dimensional depending on how they're exhibited, because they inhabit solely 3 dimensions. So here I call these following works: Fibre Sculptures.

Fibre Sculpture: Pods

'Pods' - I started with a series of drawings and from these made 3D sculptures from copper wire, wool and insulation blankets. In these uncertain times I wanted to express ideas around connectivity, incubation, through woven fabrics & threads and binding/wrapping yarn.

Copper has the highest electrical conductivity rating and wool has the highest insulation rating making them materials that I feel work well with human values of care & nurture.
